Tara Costa, 'Biggest Loser' Star, Sued by Fitness Partner for Weight Gain

By    |   Tuesday, 09 July 2013 02:03 PM EDT

Tara Costa wowed the world when she lost a staggering 155 pounds on NBC's "The Biggest Loser" in 2009, but now the reality star is being sued by a fitness firm for breach of contract for regaining "far too much weight."

FC Online Marketing Inc., which owns the website ILoveKickboxing.com, filed suit recently in a U.S. District Court in Florida claiming that Costa, 23, had regained too much weight in 2011 to make personal appearances on behalf of the company.

There was reportedly a section of Costa's contract that said she must "agree to maintain her current level of fitness and conditioning" throughout the length of the partnership, Yahoo's TheWrap reported.

Costa, a self-proclaimed food addict, ballooned to 316 pounds before deciding to go on "The Biggest Loser" in 2009.

"I used to probably have a pint of ice cream almost every other night, if not more than that," she told ABC News in 2012. "Not my proudest moments."

On the show, she famously slimmed down, dropping 155 pounds, but regained more than 20 pounds two years later.

She appears to be back in shape now — that is if her Twitter pictures hold any weight.

FC Online is seeking unspecified damages.
