Veteran and double amputee Rep. Tammy Duckworth ripped into a civilian contractor about a veterans disability claim he made after a football injury, and the video of his dressing down is going viral.
An angry Duckworth questioned Braulio Castillo, CEO of Strong Castle Inc., about his 30 percent disability after an injury at the U.S. Military Preparatory School.

Castillo appeared before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. He filed the disability claim in
an attempt to get tax exemptions for a veteran-owned business, Inquisitr.com reported.
Duckworth (D-Ill.) served in the Iraq, where she lost both legs and still suffers from a severely injured arm, the pain of which she detailed for Castillo.
In the video, Castillo said the daily pain he suffers in his ankle he would gladly suffer again “to protect this great country.”
“I’m so glad that you would be willing to play football at prep school again to protect this great country,” Duckworth returned. “Shame on you, Mr. Castillo. Shame on you. You maynot have broken any laws ... but you have broken the trust of this great nation.”
The Military Times reported that Castillo broke his foot in prep school, but played football in college.
The Daily Caller reported that the Oversight Committee is looking into contracts Castillo’s business got with the IRS due to his business designations and friendship with a top IRS official.
Reaction to the video of Duckworth’s scolding hit social media, elicting powerful emotions.
On NPR’s website, Wayne Roper posted: “I was in tears by the end of this video. Not just because Rep. Duckworth so eloquently and passionately gave this person a deserved moral beating, but because I have no confidence that enough people will see this video to encourage a change in the type of people who get elected to office. I wish Rep Duckworth the best of health and I thank her for her (true) service to the United States of America.”
Roper may just be wrong that most people won’t see the video, which has gone viral.
