“Britain’s Got Talent” star Susan Boyle is allegedly being harassed by a gang of youths in her Scotland hometown of Blackburn.
The 56-year-old singer has been victim to two separate incidents involving insults and intimidation, the Mirror reported, with her spokesman planning to contact the police to ensure Boyle’s safety.
In one incident, the gang of boys lit paper on fire and threw it at her, noted The Mirror.
According to reports, the group targeted Boyle at a bus stop, where they surrounded her and pelted her with any item they could find nearby.
In a separate attack, Boyle was traveling in a bus when a group of youths started throwing stones at the vehicle while reportedly hurling insults at her.
There have been a string of other verbal attacks towards Boyle in the past few weeks.
A witness to the attacks recounted the experiences to The Mirror: “I was going inside the Mill Centre, Susan was walking out and they were all standing at the entrance and they said to her ‘why don’t you get yourself a pair of glasses you ugly, old b****. It’s horrendous.”
Boyle’s neighbours in Blackburn have said the star has been hassled constantly since becoming famous, noted The Daily Mail.
The attacks have sparked public outrage.
