Sue Klebold, mother of Columbine High School killer Dylan Klebold, gave her first television interview to ABC News' Diane Sawyer and said she still has a hard time coming to terms with her son and Eric Harris killing 13 people on April 20, 1999.

The interview, which will be aired on "20/20" Friday night, comes as Klebold is releasing her book, "A Mother's Reckoning: Living in the Aftermath of Tragedy," said ABC News.

Amazon said the author's book profits will be donated to research and to charitable mental health organizations.

"There is never a day that goes by where I don't think of the people that Dylan harmed," said Klebold. "I think it's easier for me to say harmed than killed, and it's still hard for me after all this time. It is very hard to live with the fact that someone you loved and raised has brutally killed people in such a horrific way."

KMGH-TV said Anne Marie Hochhalter, who was paralyzed during the Columbine shooting, wrote a letter to Klebold ahead of the "20/20" interview expressing gratitude that the book's funds were going to mental illness issues.

Hochhalter's mother took her own life from depression six months after the school shooting, said the television station.

"Hindsight is truly 20/20 and I'm sure you have agonized over what you could have done differently," Hochhalter wrote. "I know, because I do the same thing with trying to think of ways I could have prevented my mother's death. I have no ill-will towards you. Just as I wouldn't want to be judged by the sins of my family members, I hold you in that same regard."
