The suspect in the stabbing death of a Houston high school student was arraigned in probable-cause court early Thursday morning and is being held in Harris County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
Authorities charged Luis Alonzo Alfaro, 17, with murder late Wednesday in the stabbing death of Spring High School student Joshua Broussard, 17. Alfaro is old enough to be considered an adult under Texas law.

Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia said the confrontation at the school, which may have been gang related, escalated quickly when weapons were pulled out just before noon Wednesday. Spring Independent School District superintendent Ralph Draper
told the Houston Chronicle he believed the incident was a spillover from a community disagreement.
"When street violence pours into the school, it compromises the well-being of all of our students," Draper said.
Deavean Bazile, 16, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital, and two other unidentified students were transported to Houston Northwest Medical Center for injuries as well.
Pastor E.A. Deckard, acting as a spokesman for the Bazile family, disputed the claim that the violence was gang-related.
"This was not gang violence, but simply a misunderstanding between two people," Deckard, of the Green House International Church, told The Chronicle. "We pray for the family of the man who did not make it through this tragedy. We as a community need to come together to show kids the value of real life."
Officials canceled classes at Spring High School until Monday.
One parent
told KTRK-TV that she plans to home-school her daughter because of the growing violence at the school.
"Last year there were gang fights consistently," Campbell said. "This is ridiculous. This is an ongoing situation."
One unidentified student described the traumatizing scene.
"All I saw was a trail of blood. It was, like, a trail of blood from the beginning of the cafeteria to all the way to the nurse's office. I saw the dude bleeding and bleeding and just holding his side," the student said.
