Steve Martin likely felt like "The Jerk" when he lost his wallet, but he's grateful for the good Samaritan who returned it.
The well-known comedian, actor, and musician was in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Tuesday for a bluegrass musical show with Edie Brickell and the Steep Canyon Rangers. Apparently, he went for a
bike ride that morning and misplaced his wallet, The Times Leader reports.
An unidentified man, who was working on a city street discovered it in front of a local department store and returned the wallet, according to the Times Leader.

Knowing Martin was in town for a performance,
the man contacted the venue, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Honesty survives in Wilkes-Barre," Martin told The Times Leader, through a spokeswoman. "The gentleman couldn't have been sweeter, nicer, kinder, and his Batman-like rescue of my wallet is one more reason to remember Wilkes-Barre."
The identity of the honest man remains a mystery. Will Beekman, the programming director at the F.M. Kirby Center, said a man phoned the box office around 10 a.m. local time.
"We thought it was a joke at first," Beekman told the paper.
Martin, star of well-known films "Roxanne," "LA Story," and "Bowfinger," insisted on thanking the man personally. He also offered tickets to that night's performance, but the man declined, explaining that his wife was ill.
He received a $100 reward, Ellen Masaitis, who works at Curry Donuts next to the theater, told the paper. Masaitis said the man came into the shop after his meeting Martin and told her the story.
"He was just a guy that was walking past Boscov's and found Steve's wallet," Masaitis said, relating the man's account.
The Steep Canyon Rangers, an American bluegrass quintet from North Carolina, collaborated with Steve Martin on the 2012 Grammy-nominated "Rare Bird Alert." A well-known banjo player, Martin is joining them on selected tour dates.
