Stars Evacuate LA Fire

Stars were forced to evacuate their homes as Southern California wildfires threatened Los Angeles, with Paris Hilton and Lea Michele among the celebrities packing up, E! News reported.

The Skirball Fire, which started burning early on Wednesday near the Bel Air neighborhood, has forced thousands to flee their homes.

"This wild fire in LA is terrifying!," Hilton said in a post to Twitter on Wednesday, which was accompanied with a video of the blaze along the 405 freeway in L.A.

"My house is now being evacuated to get all of my pets out of there safely."

The socialite also thanked the firefighters on the frontline, calling them "true heroes."

Lea Michele decided not to chance it and also evacuated her home.

"Praying for everyone in LA...grabbed what I loved most this morning and so grateful to my friends for taking us in," she said in a tweet on Wednesday.

NBC Los Angeles reported that the flames had crept up to media mogul Rupert Murdoch's Bel Air estate and winery.

Roxanne Langer at Moraga Vineyards said that the wine storage shed was ravaged by the fire, but it is yet to be confirmed how much wine was lost.

According to NBC Los Angeles, firefighters were able to douse the fire before any additional damages were made to the winery and the estate's unoccupied house, which Murdoch bought for about $30 million in 2013.

Film producer Randall Emmett, who is also co-founder of the production company Emmett/Furla/Oasi, told Deadline he and his two daughters were forced to evacuate their Mulholland Drive home.

"My daughters were a little frantic, their hamster Lucky was in the house," he said. "You think it's probably just some brush fires, but I turn on the TV, and everything is on fire, 50 acres."

He described to Deadline how he could see the fire blazing as he ran into his house and grabbed personal items that could not be replaced.

"I threw boxes of the stuff in my car and as I was driving away, just as the firefighters there said the evacuation had become mandatory."

Other stars such as Lionel Richie, Chelsea Handler and Chrissy Tiegan were also forced from their homes.
