A Spice Girls world tour is not in the cards for 2018 after Victoria Beckham, aka "Posh Spice," dismissed reports that the iconic '90s girl group is going to reunite one last time.

News of a possible reunion tour whipped fans into a frenzy of excitement last week after TMZ claimed that the five members had met with former manager Simon Fuller to plan a reunion world tour.

Fueling the rumors, Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) posted a photo to Instagram of herself with fellow Spice Girls Mel B (Scary Spice), Beckham (Posh Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), and Melanie C (Sporty Spice).

However, Beckham shattered all speculation over the weekend when she told British Vogue that it's not happening.

“I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour,” she said during a preview of her autumn/winter 2018 collection.

Beckham pointed out that the five original members were merely catching up and bouncing ideas around when the photo was snapped.

“It was so great to see the girls,” she noted. “We had such a fun lunch. It was really, really, really lovely. I still speak to them all individually, but for us all to get together was really lovely.”

Does this mean that there is no future for the Spice Girls at all? Maybe not, according to Beckham.

“There’s something so strong in the message of what the Spice Girls stood for,” she said, according to Vogue. “What is that in the future? What does that look like? We were just bouncing ideas around. Brainstorming . . .”

There may not be a world tour planned but anonymous sources have since told The Sun that the possibility of performing stand-alone gigs across four continents has not been completely ruled out either.

“Given the family situations, committing to a grueling mega world tour was always a tough ask. When they got back together this month to discuss reforming, a mammoth tour was dismissed by the majority,” one source said.

“But performing together again certainly wasn’t, so the idea of playing a few huge shows in various cities was one that received the most interest.”
