Cast members from "Saturday Night Live" are not happy about Elon Musk hosting the show.
The tech mogul, who is scheduled to host on May 8, with Miley Cyrus as the musical guest, was already under fire from viewers objecting to his appearance on the NBC show. Now he faces backlash from cast members.
"Only CEO I want to do a sketch with is Cher-E Oteri" Andrew Dismuke wrote in an Instagram story, according to CNN Business. The text was posted over a photo of former "SNL" castmember Cheri Oteri.
"What the f**k does this even mean?" Bowen Yang wrote in an Instagram story in response to Musk’s tweet stating, "Let’s find out just how live Saturday Night Live really is."
Aidy Bryant also weighed in on the matter by sharing a Bernie Sanders post in an instagram story that reads in part, "The 50 wealthiest people in this country own more wealth than some 165 million Americans. That is a moral obscenity."
"the absolute shade from Aidy Bryant after announcing that @nbcsnl will have Elon Musk as host. good for her," @abbymorr11 wrote in her tweet sharing a screenshot of the story.
Fans erupted soon after "SNL" announced in a tweet last week that Musk would be hosting.
"i dk how much communication you have with lorne or the higher ups, but someone needs to tell them that absolutely no one wants this. i can not think of a single person who wants this," a Twitter user replied.
"I've watched Saturday Night Live since 1975 and I think this finally did me in. I'm done. Nope," another wrote.
"This is great inspiration to everyone. If you inherit a bunch of money and then spend your time calling people pedos, forcibly exposing workers to covid, and denying science, you too may be able to poorly deliver jokes written by other people on network TV!" a third added in reference to controversial remarks Musk has made in the past.
