SMU racist fliers titled “Why White Women Shouldn’t Date Black Men" have been popping up on the Dallas campus, and now university officials are investigating.

According to the Southern Methodist University student newspaper, The Daily Campus, two of the fliers were found in a residence hall stairwell Sunday.

“Recent fliers, identical to those showing up on other campuses nationally, were posted in one of our Commons and in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center . . . [these] clearly communicate that there are among us a small number of individuals who do not want to live in a united, mutually respectful, campus community," President Gerald Turner wrote in a memo to the student body. "Anyone committed to living a life of denigrating others in some misguided effort to elevate themselves should find another place to live."

The flier lays out a list of reasons why white women shouldn’t date black men. Such reasons include, “He’s much more likely to abuse you” and “Your kids probably won’t be smart,” according to New York magazine.

The flier also cites crime stories involving interracial couples as more “evidence” as to why white women should heed the advice of the leaflet's title. The last line of the sheet says: “Take the Red Pill and meet the Alt-Right at RadixJournal.com,” which is the name of the white-nationalist blog ran by Richard Spencer, New York mag noted.

The university is calling the fliers “hateful,” and officials are trying to determine how the papers ended up in a dorm stairwell, CBS Dallas reported.

“It kind of upsets me, because I’m currently in an interracial relationship, and I feel like these fliers . . . you shouldn’t be able to tell anyone who they should or shouldn’t date,” Natasha Garcia, a student at SMU, told the local station. “At the end of the day, it’s their choice.”

“Everyone is being encouraged to take the fliers down, and try to see the person who puts them up,” student Jabari Ford added.

Some students are firing back at whoever is responsible for the offensive fliers by putting up posters around campus that read “We’re Better Together,” CBS Dallas noted.

There will be a “call to action” gathering at the university’s Student Center at 8 p.m. Wednesday night.

This incident comes the same week that the same fliers were found at the University of Oklahoma, Indiana University, and Purdue University Indianapolis, and just two months after the racist propaganda appeared on the University of Michigan's campus.
