Sister Margaret Ann, the "chainsaw nun" whose picture went viral during the cleanup of Hurricane Irma, was honored last week by her school and the Miami Heat basketball team for her efforts.

The nun, who is the principal of Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School in southwest Florida's Miami-Dade County, received the honor during a surprise pep rally Friday that was attended by Miami Heat star Shane Battier.

"We got her here under the ruse that it was a pep rally for the school, which it was," Battier told WSVN. "I think she was a little embarrassed, but it was awesome."

The chainsaw nun was presented with tickets to a Heat game, a $5,000 donation to a charity of her choosing, and an NBA Tissot watch.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, Sister Margaret Ann was filmed by an off-duty police officer cutting through a downed tree with a chainsaw to clear the road, dressed in her full habit, and the video went viral on social media.

“All I wanted to do was clear the road and make it safer for people,” she told WSVN. “I still don’t know why it went so viral. It doesn’t make sense to me.”

“It was awesome,” Battier said, WSVN reported. “How could you not be inspired by seeing a sister with a chain saw clearing the street?”

Although Sister Margaret Ann may not see what the fuss was all about, she was happy to receive the honor — and the basketball tickets.

“I love basketball, I just love it with a passion,” she said, WSVN reported.

Twitter was still praising the "chainsaw nun" for her good deed.
