Sian Blake, a former British soap star, was found dead on Wednesday with her two children in the garden of her home after a triple murder investigation was started when she had not been seen for nearly a month.
Blake, 43, who played Frankie Pierre in the BBC One soap EastEnders, and her sons Zachary Bilal Kent-Blake, 8, and Amon Ben George Kent-Blake, 4, were discovered during excavation of the garden at Blake's Erith home, according to the BBC News
Authorities are searching for Blake's partner, Arthur Simpson-Kent, 48, in connection with the investigation, said BBC, but police believe Simpson-Kent has left the United Kingdom for Ghana.
Simpson-Kent, a freelance hair stylist, was photographed arriving at the Kotoka International Airport in Ghana on Dec. 19, reported People magazine.
Blake and the couple's sons had not been seen publicly since Dec. 13 and a missing persons' investigation was opened on Dec. 16, police told BBC. They said the case is being handled as a triple murder investigation.
Postmortem examinations revealed that the actress and her children died of serious head and neck injuries, according to People.
A Metropolitan Police statement said that "significant attempts" were made to hide Blake's body and those of her children, according to Sky News
. Authorities began digging up the garden after the area drew the interest of police dogs brought to the scene.
"This is a fast moving investigation and we are actively pursuing a number of lines of inquiry," said Detective Superintendent Paul Monk of Scotland Yard's Homicide and Major Crime Command in a statement reported by People. "If anyone has any information that they think might help our investigation then I would urge them to get in contact with us."
Ava Blake said her sister had planned to end her relationship with Simpson-Kent over the Christmas holiday, according to Sky News.
"She had asked to come back home and we said yes, so we really tried to plan on getting her to move back home," Ava Blake said, noted Sky News. "She said she would come back, sort of Christmas week, and after Christmas they would arrange about selling the property she lived in."
"She didn't want to throw (Simpson-Kent) out on the street but give him time to find somewhere else to live. That was the only point she was wavering on."
