American millennials would be willing to give up sex and coffee for a month to pursue their hobbies, according to a new study.

The study, released last month, was done on behalf of Gladiator by Kelton Global.

"Hobbies are key in helping maintain happiness for Americans," Gladiator said in a statement about the survey. "In fact, over half of Americans (59 percent) say that engaging in their favorite activities helps to relieve stress. More importantly, nearly half of Americans (41 percent) feel their hobbies are an important aspect of their overall happiness."

On the question, "What would you be willing to do, if anything, to spend more time participating in your hobbies for a month?," 33 percent of millennials surveyed said that they would give up coffee and 21 percent said that they would give up sex.

The survey also concluded that 33 percent of millennials would give up an hour of sleep, 28 percent would pay money, 27 percent would get a tattoo, and 26 percent would wear something silly in public.

When it comes to giving up their iPhone or other communication devices or spending less time with family, millennials were less interested in surrendering those things. The survey said that only 16 percent of millennials were willing to surrender their cellphones for their hobbies, and only 17 percent would want to spend less time with family.

Some 14 percent of millennials said that they would get a bad haircut to pursue their hobby for a month and 14 percent said they would be willing to take a pay cut for their passion.

Gladiator is a leader in garage and household storage systems, delivering innovative solutions that allow homeowners to organize in ways that suit their needs, hobbies and design aesthetic, according to a statement from the company.
