Texas Rep. Pete Sessions, chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, married former Florida congressional candidate Karen Diebel in a small ceremony Saturday.
Diebel, a former city commissioner in Winter Park City, Fla., briefly entered the 2012 congressional race in Florida’s new 26th District. She lost the 24th District GOP primary to Rep. Sandy Adams in 2010,
Politico reports.
“Congressman Sessions was married at a small ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 4 in Washington, D.C.,” Torrie Miller, Sessions’ communications director, said in a statement. “Pete and Karen were delighted to be joined by their families to celebrate their marriage.”
Sessions was divorced last year and has two sons. Diebel is a widow and has three sons.
