The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is rumored to be unveiled on Aug. 13, but unconfirmed photos leaked online are giving a glimpse of the new smartphone, with metal sides resembling an iPhone.
An online retailer in the United Kingdom began giving details about the phone and taking pre-orders before
removing the Samsung Galaxy Alpha information from its website, Tech Times reported.

Designed to compete with the upcoming iPhone 6, Tech Times said, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha has an aluminum frame, 32GB of internal storage, a 4.7-inch, 1280 x 720 display, an Exyons 5 processor, Android KitKat, Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, a 12-megapixel rear camera, fingerprint scanner, and heart rate sensor.
Unverified photos on the Chinese social media site Weibo show a white version of the phone, and
photos released earlier by another site show a black version, according to Mashable.
Much like
speculation on the iPhone 6, it's believed the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will come in two sizes.
Samsung’s senior vice president Kim Hyun-joon said the company plans to launch two new smartphones are by the end of the year, using new materials.
