Ryan Reynolds announced Wednesday he has bought Aviation Gin, acquiring an ownership interest in the company because he liked the taste of the American-made liquor.
Reynolds posted a photo on Instagram and Twitter with cases and a bottle of the gin to show his new position with the company. On Twitter, he said, “In the long and in no way disastrous marriage of showbiz and alcohol, so happy to announce I’m the proud owner of a gin company...”
The Canadian star of the “Deadpool” movies captioned his Instagram post, “I own nothing in this photo. Except that gin company.”
Aviation Gin also tweeted the news, saying, “We’re excited to announce our new boss, @vancityreynolds. Actor, producer, professional good-looking person.”
“Aviation is the best tasting gin in the world,” Reynolds said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Once I tried it, I knew I wanted to get involved with the company in a big way.”
The brand is made in Portland, Oregon, in small batches and has a number of unique ingredients including cardamom, coriander, French lavender, sarsaparilla, and orange peel.
Reynolds was the 15th highest paid actor in the world in 2017, Forbes reported, and is the first to invest in gin. Other celebrities have invested in vodka or tequila, including Diddy, George Clooney, Drake, and Bethenny Frankel.
