Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte suffered two injuries Sunday after an encounter with an overzealous teen fan.
The five-time Olympic gold medalist tore his MCL and
sprained his ACL in his left knee during a trip last weekend to Gainesville, Fla., according to CBS Tampa. He was attempting to catch a young girl who was racing toward him when he got injured.

The two toppled over, and Lochte hit his knee on a curb, his publicist, Janice Lee, said. The girl walked away unscathed.
Lee issued a statement Tuesday saying that Lochte is expected to make a "full and speedy recovery."
However, Lochte will be "taking a break from training and competition."
Injuries are nothing new for Lochte, 29,
who revealed in a 2011 interview with ESPN that he tore his meniscus break dancing, broke his foot while skateboarding, and fractured his shoulder falling out of a tree.
He is next scheduled to represent the U.S. in the Duel in the Pool meet in Scotland on Dec. 20-21. In addition to the five gold medals, Lochte has also won three silver and three bronze medals. As part of the U.S. relay team, he holds the world record in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay (long course). He is also the world record holder in the 100-meter individual medley, the 200-individual medley, and the 400-meter individual medley.
