Saturday's royal wedding flowers have been donated to a London hospice and other charities to help brighten up others' lives after the flowers' centerstage performance.

The flowers that decorated St. George’s Chapel and St. George’s Hall at Windsor Castle during the royal wedding ceremony and reception of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were given away to St. Joseph’s in Hackney, East London, and other charities and hospices, Kensington Palace confirmed, CNN reported.

“To see the faces of the patients when they received the flowers was just fantastic,” St. Joseph’s spokeswoman Claire Learner told CNN.

The flowers included foxgloves, peonies, and white garden roses, some of which were taken from the gardens and parkland of Crown Estate and Windsor Great Park, which are owned by the royal family.

A Facebook post by St. Joseph’s about the donation said, “Our hospice smells and looks gorgeous. Such a lovely gesture.”

One resident of St. Joseph’s, Pauline Clayton, 89, was a royal dressmaker who at age 19 worked on the wedding dress of Queen Elizabeth II with three other women, according to the BBC.

“I really liked working for the Queen Mother and I helped make many of her dresses during my 20-year career with [royal dressmaker Norman Hartnell],” Clayton told the BBC. “With my royal connections it’s such a lovely coincidence to be at St. Joseph’s and receive these wedding flowers.”

St. Joseph’s hospice was founded with support by Queen Alexandra and Princess Victoria in 1905.

Prince Harry picked the flowers for his bride’s bouquet himself, choosing white roses and forget-me-nots — his mother Diana's favorite flower — from the private garden at Kensington Palace.
