Roseanne Barr Criticizes Obama on Medical Pot

Actress/comedian Roseanne Barr departed from many other celebrities Tuesday in talking about President Barack Obama, offering some less-than-laudatory words for him while appearing on a national late-night television talk show.

Barr, in an interview on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” brought up the issue of medical marijuana, which currently is being dispensed in the Golden State.

“Obama's trying to take our medical marijuana over there in California, trying to send in federal troops to get our medical marijuana,” Barr told Letterman.

Barr generally has been outspoken when it comes to politics. She campaigned unsuccessfully for the Green Party's presidential nomination.

During her “Late Show” appearance, Barr turned to the camera and delivered a message directly to the White House.

“And I’ll tell you this, Obama,” she said. “You’ll get my joint when you pry it out of my cold, dead fingers!”

Barr opined that pot is an effective pain remedy for some patients.

“You know, it’s not funny,” she said. “It’s real medicine that a lot of people can’t live without.”

However, the former television sitcom star couldn’t help tagging on a bit of self-deprecating humor to her response.

“I mean, it really helps with, like, mental illness and stuff, which is why I use it,” Barr deadpanned.
