Romney Ties With Obama in New Hampshire Poll

A new poll shows Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the presumptive frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination, in a statistical tie with President Barack Obama in New Hampshire, the Union Leader reported Thursday.

The poll conducted by the Public Policy Polling group noted that the sample of voters surveyed was made up of 36 percent independents, 35 percent Democrats and 29 percent Republicans.

That slightly weighted the polls to the Democrats. And still, Romney tied the president in the poll, which showed Obama garner 47 percent support to Romney’s 46 percent. The poll has a 5 percent margin of error.

The poll indicates that Obama is not exactly "hot" in the Granite State. His approval-disapproval is split at 46-46 percent. Romney, like Obama, is split, with 45 percent favorable and 44 percent unfavorable.

In the poll, Obama beat other potential Republican candidates. The pollster surveyed 769 likely voters from March 31 to April 3.
