The 2017 nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are out and include rapper Tupac Shakur, pop singer Janet Jackson, and grunge-rock band Pearl Jam. Of the 19 hopefuls announced on Tuesday, only five will be inducted.

Shakur and Pearl Jam are first-timers who both made the nomination ballot in their initial year of eligibility, said The Los Angeles Times.

Artists don’t become eligible for nomination in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame until 25 years after they debut.

Shakur released his “2Pacalypse Now” album in 1991 and, if inducted, would become the sixth rapper or rap group to be honored, according to US Magazine.

Pearl Jam debuted their album, “Ten,” that same year.

This is Jackson’s second straight year receiving a nomination, but she’s yet to get that nod she’s been waiting for: the induction. She became eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2007.

“Voting in the past has been so close, the nominating committee wanted to be more inclusive and have more choices for fans and the voting body,” according to a statement issued by the Hall of Fame.

Voting begins Tuesday and will continue through Dec. 5, the Times noted. Voting can be done online at rockhall.com.

Winners will be announced sometime in December, and inductions will take place in April of next year and will be held in New York City at the Barclay’s Center.

Some of the other hopefuls include Kraftwerk, Jane’s Addiction, Depeche Mode, The Cars, The Zombies, Yes, Bad Brains, Chaka Khan, Chic, J. Geils Band, Joan Baez, Joe Tex, MC5 and Steppenwolf, US Magazine noted.

Despite the long list of nominees, only five will be inducted.

Voting results will be determined by an international voting body of over 800 artists, historians and members of the music industry, and there will also be a “fans’ ballot,” comprised of public votes, according to CNN.

The 2016 Hall of Fame class included N.W.A., Steve Miller, Cheap Trick, Chicago and Deep Purple.
