Robert Pera has challenged former NBA great and Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan to a 1:1 game, offering a charity contribution of $1 million for the game. The great one, however, isn't interested.

Robert Pera is the 35-year-old billionaire CEO of the California tech company Ubiquiti Networks Inc. and owner of the Memphis Grizzlies. Pera issued the challenge on Monday after Grizzlies fans suggested that he play the Dallas Mavericks' outspoken owner Mark Cuban in a one-on-one, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Apparently, Cuban was not enough competition for Pera.

Jordan told the Charlotte Observer Wednesday that he's not interested.

"I think that’s comical," Jordan said. "It didn't make any sense. Why would I play one-on-one? It's a no-win situation for me no matter what."

Pera responded to Jordan's snub on Twitter.

Sam Gardner, of Fox Sports, admitted that Pera would not be a challenge for Jordan, but said, why not do it for charity?

"Even at 50, there’s little doubt that MJ would make quick work of the 35-year-old Pera should they meet on the court," Gardner wrote Tuesday. "Jordan is notoriously competitive and certainly wouldn't go easy on him, especially if $1 million of his own money was on the line.

"A cool million is pocket change to both Pera and Jordan, though, and it could really benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, where it's said to be going, if the two were to play. So there's really no downside to them squaring off — unless Jordan is chicken, that is," Gardner added.
