Legendary music producer Quincy Jones testified against Michael Jakson’s estate on Thursday, claiming he was cheated out of $30 million.

Central to the trial, now in its second week at the Los Angeles Superior Court, is a lawsuit Jones filed in 2013, in which he claimed the estate, and Sony Music, evaded paying royalties to him by remixing Jackson’s top hits from "Off the Wall," "Bad," and "Thriller," noted the New York Post.

Additionally, Jones’ lawyers said the 84-year-old was entitled to proceeds generated from Jackson’s backstage concert film, "This Is It."

Speaking in court, Jones pointed out that he was rightfully entitled to payment for the use of songs from the albums he worked on.

However, Howard Weitzman, an attorney for Jackson’s estate, pressed Jones to concede that he was not entitled to licensing revenues for the recordings, noted Variety.

The conflict involves two contracts, which Jones claimed he never read and left details to lawyers to handle.

Responding to Weitzman, Jones told the court he was not concerned by what the agreement said and that he had put his heart into making the record and deserved to be paid.

"Under questioning from his own lawyer, Mike McKool, Jones gave extensive reminiscences about his music career and his collaboration with Jackson," Variety reported. "He testified that his relationship with Jackson was founded on ‘love, respect, and trust,’ and that financial considerations rarely surfaced."

Jones told the court that he was not suing Jackson, he was suing the estate.

Monday will see closing arguments for the trial. A minimum of nine out of a 12-member jury must decide whether the estate is liable before damages could be determined, according to the New York Post.
