RNC Chairman Reince Priebus today described President Barack Obama as a “promise king” who hasn’t delivered for the American people.
“You can’t keep operating a government that spends more money than it takes in,” Priebus said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “We are living in the Obama economy. He made everything worse, number one. But number two — and more importantly — he made promises to the American people. He was the promise king, and he hasn’t followed through on any of it. He went the opposite direction.”
Priebus touted Romney’s plan to restore the U.S. economy and said it’s filled with specifics, including a 20-percent, across-the-board income-tax cut, a lowering of the small-business tax to 25 percent, from 35 percent, building the Keystone pipeline and doing away with Obamacare.
He called a rally in Boston by David Axelrod, the president’s campaign strategist, “the height of a political stunt,” “laughable,” and “amusing.”
Axelrod appeared at the rally Thursday, in front of the statehouse, to disparage Romney’s record on unemployment while governor of Massachusetts.
“They failed so badly that they want us to believe that we’re not living on earth, and that the president isn’t the president, and all of these things that are going wrong have nothing to do with Barack Obama,” Priebus said
