Saturday's Powerball numbers were not matched by any ticket holders, ballooning the lottery's new jackpot to $422 million ahead of Wednesday's drawing.

No one held the winning numbers of 5, 7, 23, 35, and 39 with the Powerball number 11. Not only that, no one even won the $2 million and $1 million prize for getting five of the six numbers correct, either, noted the lottery's official website.

The $422 million total currently ranks as the 11th biggest lottery jackpot ever in the United States, continuing a string of monster lottery jackpots, according to CNN. Three of the top 10 biggest lottery totals have come this year, and five since 2014.

Powerball made news earlier this month when in January the last of three winners of the biggest lottery jackpot ever, $1.6 billion, Marvin and Mae Acosta, came forward in Southern California to claim their portion of the prize, $528 million.

"It may have taken six months for them to come to one of our offices, but these winners did just what we tell all our winners to do," California Lottery director Hugo Lopez said in a Powerball statement.

"They read our winner's handbook and then assembled a team of legal and financial advisors to help them make the most of this windfall and prepare them for their new life as lottery winners. We couldn't be happier for them and are thrilled they took the time to assemble the right team before coming in to claim," the statement continued.

The other winners claimed their prizes earlier in Tennessee and Florida.

There has not been a Powerball winner in the past 22 straight drawings, when Pearle Mae Smith, of Trenton, New Jersey, and her seven children split $429.6 million on May 7, reported WABC-TV.

Powerball is played in 44 states, Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. The television station stated that the odds of a $2 ticket hitting the jackpot are more than 292 million to 1.

The jackpot of America's other multi-state lottery, Mega Millions, is at $15 million after it had the rare occurrence of having winners in two consecutive drawings this month.
