New Yorkers have turned to social media to display their anger that Chicago got the U.S. Pizza Museum, which opened Friday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The museum opened in the mixed-use development in Chicago's South Loop and is scheduled through the end of October, the newspaper said last month. Museum founder Kendall Bruns told the Tribune that the museum may remain open in that location longer, depending on public demand.

The museum's holdings include pizza art, pizza-themed clothing, pizzeria menus, pizza ads, toys, pizza-themed magnets, pizza books and even pizza records, such as "Let’s Have a Pizza Party" by The Gaylords, the Tribune wrote.

According to Metro, the pizza museum's mission is to "inspire curiosity and new ways of thinking about the rich history and recent developments in the world of pizza by collecting, preserving, interpreting, and exhibiting pizza-related items."

A museum store with pizza-related items will also be part of the showing, the newspaper said.

New Yorkers, who take pride in their pizza, are not happy with Chicago's pizza museum run and expressed it online.

Some, though, pushed back on social media.
