Pierce Brosnan's daughter Charlotte died of ovarian cancer last week, the "James Bond" actor announced.
The child of his first wife Cassandra,
who also died of ovarian cancer in 1991, Charlotte, 42, was the adoptive daughter of Pierce Brosnan, according to The Guardian.

"On June 28 my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer," Brosnan said. "She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas, and brothers Christopher and Sean."
Cassandra was a former Bond girl and Australian actress, who married Brosnan in 1980. The two stayed together until she died.
Cassandra had Charlotte and another son, Christopher, from a previous marriage. Both children took Brosnan's surname after their father died in 1986.
Brosnan married journalist Keely Shaye Smith in 2001, and they have two children together, Paris and Dylan.
"We just clicked as a family,” Brosnan told The Daily Express earlier this year. “Charlotte and Chris have just been amazing in my life."
Brosnan called for a cure to cancer in his statement on Charlotte's death.
"Charlotte fought her cancer with rare grace and humanity, courage and dignity," he said. "Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her, and that the cure for this wretched disease will be at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."
In his latest film "Love Is All You Need," released in theaters May 3, Brosnan plays a man who falls in love with a hairdresser who suffers from cancer.
Pierce Brosnan told The Mirror he was attracted to the role because of his personal tragedy.
Many actors who co-starred with Brosnan, including Stephanie Zimbalist, who starred with him in the television series "Remington Steele," passed along their condolences.
"Please join us in sending love, prayers and sympathy to Pierce Brosnan and his family for the death of his daughter Charlotte," Zimbalist posted on her Facebook page.
