Peyton Manning revealed in a recent interview that legalized marijuana in Colorado has been good for his pizza business.
Football fans may remember that Manning bought 21 Papa John's franchises in 2012, and less than two years later, on Jan. 1, the Centennial State legalized recreational pot.
"There’s some different laws out here in Colorado. Pizza business is pretty good out here, believe it or not, due to some recent law changes,"
he told Sports Illustrated's Peter King in an article published Thursday.

King had asked Manning a simple question – "Do you vote?" – and arrived at his conclusion about weed and pizza in a roundabout way.
"Yeah, I do vote. I have voted ever since I’ve been eligible to vote," he began.
"You try to know who you’re voting for. I was good friends with the Governor of Indiana, Mitch Daniels, who’s now the president of Purdue [University]. Probably could have been President of the United States. You try to get to know them. I’ve gotten to know some of the folks here in Colorado. There’s some different laws out here in Colorado."
Even before the marijuana boom, however,
TMZ reported last year that "Pizza God" Peyton had seen the sales at his restaurants jump from up to $4,000 a day to $6,000 a day after he bought them. Other franchises saw no comparable uptick in sales. The pre-marijuana boost was attributed to Peyton's celebrity, and because he offered 50 percent off all pizzas on Mondays after any Broncos victory – and they were winning a lot.
Before that, Peyton and Papa John himself had teamed up to give away millions of free pizzas, thus cementing their patron's loyalty to the Papa John's brand.
