Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi admitted this fall's election map looks "daunting" for Democrats in a new fundraising email sent by House Majority PAC.

"The Koch brothers are planning to spend $290 million this year, and when I look at the map, it's pretty daunting," the House minority leader begins her letter, which goes on to solicit donations.

The email toes the party line, demonizing billionaire political activists Charles and David Koch, who were declared the "Dems' 2014 foil" by Politico as early as March.

"House Majority PAC is going to respond to each and every Koch brother attack possible in targeted races all across the country," Pelosi announces in the email.

The former Speaker of the House has every right to feel this fall's elections could spell disaster for her party. Statistically speaking, it's now common knowledge that the "Democrats have a very small chance of retaking the House in 2014," and, conversely, "Republicans are more likely to gain seats than lose seats," as The Washington Post put it in April.

Making her prospects of regaining the Speaker's gavel even worse, the Kochs unveiled a new super PAC called Freedom Partners Action Fund on Monday, The Daily Beast reported. The new political action committee will aim to raise $290 million for the fall elections, supporting dozens of GOP candidates and complementing the efforts of the Koch-backed Americans for Prosperity advocacy group and the Libre Initiative, which will appeal to Hispanics with a small-government message.

Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and libertarian political scientist Charles Murray were said to have spoken at the brothers' most recent twice-annual seminar where the PAC was announced.

Pelosi's efforts to caricature the Kochs will likely increase along with her party's as the election races begin to heat up. They will likely never mention their own backers, however, the most prominent as of late being liberal billionaire Tom Steyer, who's promised to steer $100 million in the races on behalf of the Democrats.
