Paul McCartney joined Ringo Star in a recording studio to lay down some music together for the singer-drummer's new album.
A Twitter message from Starr included a photo of the former Beatles together. Rolling Stone magazine said Starr is currently working on the follow-up to his 2015 recording "Postcards From Paradise."
Minutes later Sunday, Starr also tweeted out a picture of him, McCartney and former Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh.
TMZ reported last Thursday that McCartney and Starr were spotted out at dinner with Walsh, award-winning actor Tom Hanks, and David Grohl, of Nirvana and the Foo Fighters.
"Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh, Tom Hanks and Dave Grohl go out to dinner – as they did Wednesday night in Santa Monica – who picks up the tab?" asked TMZ about the gathering of stars. "The legends came together with their wives at Giorgio Baldi for what has to be the most hall of fameiest meal ever."
Rolling Stone said McCartney provided vocals on "Walk With You" and the bass on "Peace Dream" from Starr's 2010 album "Y Not."
The Beatles – McCartney, Starr, John Lennon, and George Harrison – were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 after kicking off what was known musically as the "British Invasion" during the 1960s.
The Beatles went on to become one of the most influential bands in music history, reflecting the culture and mood of their times. McCartney was inducted into the Hall of Fame as an individual in 1999 while Starr was inducted individually in 2015.
