R&B legend Patti LaBelle invited a fan up on the stage to dance during a concert but then kicked the man off when it appeared he was starting to strip off his clothes.
LaBelle, 71, was performing at the Hard Rock Casino in Vancouver on Friday when she invited some fans to come dance with her onstage,
reported E! News, but got more than she bargained for.
The singer, who had been performing one of her standards "Lady Marmalade," yelled at the man who appeared to start unbuttoning his shirt.
A video posted on TMZ captured the incident.
"Don't you dare, not on my stage," LaBelle told the man. "No, baby...did I say I was 71 years young, right? I am not Nicki Minaj or that little, uh, Miley," referring to Miley Cyrus, according to E! News.
A bodyguard arrived after the man appeared to bend over and LaBelle pushed him and yelled, "Oh, no. Get off of my god darn stage, b****. And stay off. Put him out of the building. Put him out. How dare you."
The longtime music legend later apologized to her audience.
"I'm sorry I didn't let my security do what he had to do earlier," LaBelle can be heard saying on the TMZ video. "I believe in giving second and third and fourth chances, because I always say we know not what we do. Just so rude. A rude American, or whatever he is. Don't ever come in my face again. Next.
"I need somebody bring some peace up in here. You know the devil was busy. The devil was here about 20 minutes ago. I saw it. I tried to block it. I'm so sorry you heard me say a bad word. I'm a Gemini, and things come out of my mouth sometimes," LaBelle continued.
The Grammy Award-winning singer's career dates back to the 1960s with her first group the Ordettes, the forerunner of LaBelle, according to Lifetime. She has been performing solo since 1977, noted
Lifetime biography.
