Omarosa Manigault didn’t come off as the villain, for once, in the opening episode of "Celebrity Big Brother" which kicked off on Wednesday with a pantheon of B-listers. She was more like Miss Congeniality.

Manigault, the former White House staffer whose reputation as a cutthroat competitor was solidified during her appearances on Donald Trump’s "The Apprentice," played against her notoriety among the the other celebrity house guests, “Entertainment Tonight” noted.

"Omarosa immediately defied expectations … by being one of the nicest there," according to ET. "Introducing herself to everyone, smiling broadly, and generally being one of the most pleasant people on the whole show, she seemed to disarm a lot of the detractors among her fellow houseguests."

Manigault said her brief run in politics should help her navigate the "Celebrity Big Brother" house, USA Today reported.

"There's a lot of people (here) that want to stab me in the back, kind of similar to the White House," said Manigault, who was assistant to the president and director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison. "The one thing that I learned from politics is you have to watch your back, and sometimes you have to watch your front, too."

Manigault said she had to control her competitive side to build coalitions that will help her advance, per USA Today, and she was seen recruiting some of the ladies in the house to that end.

"For the first time in 'Big Brother' history, women should work together," Manigault told Shannon Elizabeth, from "American Pie" fame and the first Head of Household; Broadway veteran Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Miss Universe runner-up Ariadna Gutiérrez.

Manigault won the night's first prize, being spared from Round 1 eviction after picking a "lucky number" before the first competition, the New York Post reported, though she’s probably worth her weight in publicity gold to the show.

Other cast members include Brandi Glanville, of the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills;" Keisha Knight Pulliam, of "The Cosby Show;" Metta World Peace, the retired NBA star formerly known as Ron Artest; Mark McGrath, the lead singer for Sugar Ray; James Maslow, lead singer for Big Time Rush; and UFC legend Chuck Liddell, per ET.

The Post said "Celebrity Big Brother" will run for three weeks with the last celebrity winning $250,000.
