Seven people were reportedly injured in a gas explosion at Nyack College just north of New York City Tuesday, officials confirmed.

Fire officials said what appeared to be a major gas explosion rocked a building on the Nyack College campus in Rockland County, N.Y., just before noon Tuesday.

The blast injured seven people, sending one flying through a window, but no life-threatening injuries were reported. Some suffered flash burns, while others had minor injuries from broken glass and splintered wood. All of the victims were taken to a nearby hospital, according to CBS New York.

Though previous reports indicated that some people may have been trapped inside the building, everyone has been accounted for, officials said.

The two-story, 1920s Tudor-style building at the center of the explosion reportedly housed both administrative offices and classrooms.

Officials are evacuating surrounding homes and buildings as a precaution.

Nearby Nyack Middle School was evacuated as a precautionary measure. Children were taken out of the area by bus.

Last June, a gas main exploded in downtown Nyack. A welder was working on a gas main replacement project when sparks triggered a fire. Nobody was injured in the blast, NBC New York reported at the time.

Nyack, a private liberal arts college with about 1,000 students, is affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance and offers undergraduate, graduate, and seminary programs.
