A Catholic nun in Massachusetts rescued a man who was trapped under a tree while trying to procure firewood out in the forest.
"It could have been life threatening if he wasn't found when he was," said Captain Robert Harrison of the Wrentham Fire Department,
according to CBS News.
Police said that the nun phoned for emergency help around 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
The nun, who police did not identify, was reportedly out praying when she heard 74-year-old Douglas Goldman crying for help.
When emergency responders arrived they unpinned Goldman and sent him straight to Boston Medical Center, where he treated for a leg injury and hypothermia.
Goldman said he was not far from his home, cutting down a tree with a chainsaw, when he was pinned. He was stuck in the woods under the tree for about two hours.
A neighbor told reporters Goldman uses the wood to heat his home.
The nun was not far from Mount Saint Mary's Abbey when she found Goldman. The abbey, which is near the Rhode Island border, houses nuns who are famous for making Trappistine Quality Candy.
