Norma Michaels, best known as Josephine in the hit sitcom "King of Queens," has died at age 95. The veteran actress passed away peacefully on Saturday at her home in Palm Springs, California, a spokesperson confirmed to People.
Michaels started her career doing occasional bit parts before finally making it big in 1964 in "The Jack Benny Show."
Built on that success, she went on to enjoy a career that spanned over 60 years and included appearances in a slew of hit TV shows including "Modern Family," "Everybody Loves Raymond," and "Gilmore Girls."
Michaels also carved a name for herself in film after starring in "Wedding Crashers," and "You Don’t Mess with the Zohan."
The actress at one point decided to branch out to become a counsellor, Fox News reported. However, her heart lay in showbiz and she made a return in the late 1980s.
Memorial services are expected to take place in March. Meanwhile, Michaels' family have asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to animal rescues.
