Claims that "Stranger Things" star Noah Schnapp is dead have taken social media by storm.
The rumors were sparked Tuesday on X, formerly Twitter, after an account called "Drop Pop" posted a photo of the actor along with the caption, "Noah Schnapp is dead at 19."
The post, which has since garnered over 500,000 views, had dozens of fans taken in by the false claims.
Schnapp faced another hoax in December, with X account "Lyric Vault" stating that he had been hospitalized "after falling off a bike rack and landing on his neck."
The false news comes shortly after Schnapp took to TikTok to address the controversy surrounding his views on the ongoing Israel war on Hamas, saying that his "thoughts and beliefs have been so far misconstrued from anything even close" to what he believes.
Following news of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel, Schnapp sparked backlash after he shared a statement on Instagram telling his followers that, while he had sympathy for civilians on both sides of the conflict, "You either stand with Israel or you stand with terrorism," according to Newsweek.
The outrage intensified in November after he shared a video on Instagram that featured a sticker reading "Zionism is sexy."
Shortly after, people called for a boycott of Season 5 of "Stranger Things."
In his recent TikTok video, Schnapp shared his hopes hostages taken Oct. 7 who are remaining in Gaza will be returned and there will be "an end to the loss of innocent life in Palestine," adding he wanted "to one day see those two groups live harmoniously together in that region."
"I only want peace and safety and security for all innocent people affected by this conflict," Schnapp added in the video.
"I've had many open discussions with friends of Palestinian backgrounds. Those are very important conversations to be had and I've learned a lot. We all hope for the same things ... Anyone with any ounce of humanity would hope for an end to the hostilities on both sides."
Schnapp added people online should show more "understanding and compassion."
"We are all human and we are all the same, and we should all love each other for that and support each other and stand together… and stand together for humanity and peace," he said.
