Bobbi Kristina Brown's death will cost Nick Gordon $36 million, a judge decided Thursday, after the former boyfriend was found to be "legally responsible" for her 2015 drugged drowning. So far, he faces no criminal charges.

Gordon was found culpable in September in a wrongful death suit brought by the estate of Brown, daughter of late award-winning singer Whitney Houston and entertainer Bobby Brown, reported WXIA-TV. She was found unresponsive in the bathtub of a townhome they shared in Roswell, Georgia.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford said since Gordon didn't show up twice in court for the civil lawsuit, anything alleged by the plaintiff was admitted through omission.

E! News said the lawsuit charged that Gordon and Brown had a "violent altercation" after which Gordon "placed her in a bathtub, unconscious, after he injected her with a toxic mixture."

The ruling includes $15 million for present value of life, $13.8 million for pain and suffering and $1.37 million for assault and battery, wrote E! News.

"I am pleased with the outcome of today's court proceedings," Bobby Brown said, per E! News, adding it was time for the district attorney's office to begin a criminal prosecution.

"We intend to pursue, with all vigor, the full collection of the judgment," said R. David Ware, the estate's attorney. "The defendant will not escape justice nor ever profit from his misdeeds. We hope that in some small way this will allow Krissy's family to continue their quest for peace."

Bobbi Kristina Brown's death was eerily similar to that of her mother, who was found unconscious in a hotel bathtub on Feb. 11, 2012, the night before the Grammy Awards, according to People magazine.

Even though Bobbi Kristina Brown and Gordon said they were married, family members learned after her death that they were never legally tied the knot, according to "Entertainment Tonight," leaving her longtime boyfriend out of medical decisions and Brown's inheritance.
