Gingrich Blasts Obama: 'In Over His Head'

Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Thursday that he plans on making a decision in the next four to five weeks on whether he’ll run for president, the Raleigh News & Observer reported Friday.

Gingrich, Perdue, president, Obama, 2012Gingrich leveled a barrage of attacks on Democrats in Congress, President Barack Obama and the Democratic North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue at the Wake County Republican Party Convention. He said the president is in over his head, and predicted sweeping Republican victories during the next election cycle.

"The spectator in chief shares with us his Final Four picks and then goes to Brazil to kick a soccer ball around," Gingrich said. "I think we need a president who actually wants to be president."

Gingrich said he expects Republicans to pick up about 40 seats in the U.S. House and a dozen or so in the U.S. Senate in next year’s national election. He also he said that Gov. Perdue was on her way out.
