A newborn jaguar cub at the San Diego Zoo has become a social media sensation since it's birth last month and as it continues to bond with 7-year-old mother Nindiri.
The sex of the cuddly, two-pound cub won't be known until an exam next week, zoo officials told
KABC-TV. The zoo said while the cub and mother have spent most of their time away from spectators, the pair made their playtime debut Saturday in a cave bedroom.
"First step is acclimating to the new bedroom, getting it used to the new sounds, the sounds of people, the public, the new smells," senior keeper Chad Summers told KABC-TV. "Mom and baby are doing fantastic out in the cave."
KNSD-TV reported the new cub was still a little wobbly as it made its way around the jaguar den, located at the Harry and Grace Steele Elephant Odyssey exhibit at the Zoo.
