Natalie Portman, who played a tortured ballerina and the nerdy girlfriend of a superhero, has not been seen in movies in the two years since giving birth to her first child, but the star is about to make a major life change.
Portman, who was raised in New York and lives in Los Angeles, is about to move to Paris in support of her husband, French ballet dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied. Millepied took a job to run the Paris Opera Ballet,
Portman told Marie Claire.

While she did not hesitate in her decision to join her husband, leaving Los Angeles will be bittersweet.
"I just really, really love it here," Portman said. "It's one of the most exciting places to be in the world right now. It's really central in terms of the arts. It feels like things are happening in L.A., you know? . . . When Ben asked me if I wanted to go to Paris, I freaked. Everyone dreams of living in Paris."
Portman, 32, met Millepied while filming "Black Swan," which earned her a best actress Oscar in 2011.
"Black Swan" Director Darren Aronofsky told Marie Claire that Portman is determined to live a low-profile life for her family. She now has a young son.
"She's a very private person," Aronofsky said. "But because she's been in the spotlight since she was so young and she's so beautiful, there's this real attention on her. Usually people who are haunted by the paparazzi say they don't want it, but they do. Natalie has no interest in that. She's not playing that game."
Portman will be seen next renewing her role as scientist Jane Foster in the Marvel's Avenger franchise movie "Thor: The Dark World" in November. She will also appear next year in "Knight of Cups" with Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett, and in "Jane Got a Gun" with her former "Star Wars" co-star Ewan McGregor.
Portman denied rumors that she resisted joining "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth in making another Marvel movie.
"Chris is, like, one of the greatest people in Hollywood," Portman said. "He's the kind of actor who's so charismatic, he must be tired when he goes home."
