The coronavirus pandemic forced major movie studios to postpone the release of countless films after theatres and production companies closed down during lockdown. Many smaller films have found new streaming homes, but for major studios, it made more sense to delay the debut of potentially lucrative blockbusters. For months Hollywood has gone without any major releases but things are looking up as theatres slowly begin to reopen.
