Molly Shattuck Pleads Guilty: Ex-Ravens Cheerer Raped Boy

Molly Shattuck, a former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader, entered a guilty plea to a rape charge on Tuesday after having an affair with a 15-year-old boy who was a friend of one of her sons.

Shattuck, 48, the ex-wife of former Constellation Energy chief executive Mayo A. Shattuck, pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree rape while having other rape charges dropped, according to WBAL-TV. Delaware's Sussex County Court Judge E. Scott Bradley will sentence her on Aug. 21, reported the Baltimore Sun.

Shattuck faces a maximum of 15 years of prison, noted the TV station, though she may avoid jail time since she is a first-time offender and is currently free on $84,000 bond, reported the Washington Post.

As part of the plea, which will label Shattuck a sex offender, the socialite and self-styled health expert will forgo any unsupervised contact with children except her own, submit herself to DNA and HIV tests, and have a mental health evaluation that will include "sexual disorder counseling," noted the Post.

"Ms. Shattuck has accepted full responsibility for her actions today," said attorney Michelle Lipkowitz.

The Shattucks' divorce was finalized last year shortly after the original nine-count indictment against her was unsealed, said the Sun. The couple had been married for 17 years and active in Baltimore's social circles and several charities.

In 2005 she won a spot on the Baltimore Ravens cheerleading squad, making her the oldest member of the squad ever at 38, said the Post. Shattuck also appeared in the first season of the ABC reality show "Secret Millionaire."

Shattuck did not make a public statement and gave only brief answers to the judge's questions during her hearing, confirming that she was guilty and the decision was hers to enter into the plea agreement, noted WBAL-TV.

She admitted to performing a sex act on the 15-year-old victim at a beach house in Bethany, Delaware. She had rented it for her and her children on Labor Day weekend last year.
