Mick Jagger said goodbye to longtime girlfriend L'Wren Scott Tuesday at a private funeral for the designer, who committed suicide in New York last week.
Rev. Ed Bacon led the gathering at the Hollywood Forever Funeral Home in Los Angeles, while Jagger, Scott's brother Randy Bambrough, and others gave words of tribute during the small service,
a Jagger representative told The Associated Press.
Jagger's daughter, Karis, and Scott's friend, actress Ellen Barkin, read poems while another Jagger daughter, Jade, and the singer's grandchildren, Mazie and Zak, read psalms, the AP reported.

Bambrough's daughter, Hannah, read a Shakespearean sonnet and Rolling Stones background singer Bernard Fowler performed "Will the Circle Be Unbroken?" accompanied by Dave Stewart on guitar.
Scott, 49, was found dead in her Manhattan apartment on March 17. The medical examiner's office concluded that the acclaimed
designer and stylist hanged herself, according to CNN.
Scott and the Rolling Stones front man had been linked to one another since 2001. She was known for her sleek, sexy creations worn by stars including Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman and Academy Award-nominee Amy Adams. However, in the wake of her death, many media outlets reported that she had been struggling recently with a mountain debt.
Jagger penned a personal note about Scott on his website Tuesday.
"I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way," he wrote. "We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received. I will never forget her."
After Scott's death, the Rolling Stones postponed seven dates on the band's Australian and New Zealand "14 On Fire" tour.
"Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Ronnie Wood wish to thank all of their fans for their support at this difficult time and hope that they will fully understand the reason for this announcement," read a statement on the Stones' website last week. "A new schedule of dates is presently being worked on and will be advised as soon as possible."
