Michelle Obama met and danced with Parker Curry, a 2-year-old girl who was so mesmerized by a portrait of the former first lady that a photo capturing her awestruck reaction went viral last week.

Obama saw the photo online and reached out to invite the little girl and her mother, Jessica Curry, to visit in her Washington office, according to CNN.

The proud mother described meeting Obama as a "surreal moment" for both herself and her daughter, who thought the former first lady was a queen when she first saw the portrait.

"It was amazing," Jessica Curry told CNN of the meetup, which turned into a mini dance party as Obama discarded her shoes to boogie with Parker Curry to Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off."

"She's really down to earth, really sweet. We had a good time talking to her. Her and Parker chatted and they hung out and Parker got her out of her shoes and got her up and dancing."

It was a whirlwind week leading up to the special meeting, and it all began on Thursday at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery.

Jessica Curry decided to take her daughter there to see the new paintings of the Obamas after she saw a clip of Michelle Obama dancing on the "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and expressed wanting to dance with the former first lady, The Washington Post said.

At the gallery, Parker was immediately captivated by Obama's portrait and the moment was caught on camera by Ben Hines of North Carolina, who was standing nearby at the time.

Later, Hines tried to find the mom and daughter duo but could not, so he posted the photo to Facebook in hope of somehow connecting with them, and it worked because someone eventually tagged Jessica Curry.

After their meeting, Obama shared photos and videos of the day to social media.

"Parker, I'm so glad I had the chance to meet you today," she said in a tweet. "Keep on dreaming big for yourself...and maybe one day I'll proudly look up at a portrait of you!"
