Michaela Wells, a 16-year-old Miss Nebraska Teen beauty queen, has been missing since Sunday after she told her family she was taking out the trash at their Bellevue, Neb., home but didn't return.
Police in Omaha have said there is no evidence that Michaela is in danger or was taken against her will, but that assessment is frustrating the teen’s family.

“To have police say she isn’t in danger makes me mad. Just because nobody saw what happened to my daughter doesn’t mean she is not in danger,”
Michaela’s mother, Theresa Norris, told the Omaha World-Herald.
Michaela won the 2013 USA National Miss Nebraska Teen competition and is set to represent Nebraska in the coming USA National Miss pageant in Florida in June.
Michaela's parents say she was wearing jeans, a black tank top, a teal hoodie, a red dress coat and black shoes. Her cell phone was left inside the house. She is 5-foot-6, about 120 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes.
According to KETV-7, police searched Michaela’s cell phone for evidence that she had planned to run away, but her mother said she wouldn’t run off without saying anything, and the World-Herald reported Michaela had made plans for the week and bought a dress for a presentation.
"This isn't a sign of a teenager saying, 'I'm gonna go run away on you.' It's just not like her," Norris told KETV.
Michaela is an ambassador for the International Association for Food Protein Enterocolitis, an organization aimed at raising awareness of Food Protein-Induced Enterocolits Syndrome,
according to the organization’s blog.
Her brother has the disease.
