Michael Douglas has preemptively denied sexual harassment allegations against him in a story posted on Deadline Hollywood on Tuesday, stating that he was approached by The Hollywood Reporter and Variety about charges made by a former employee.

The two-time Academy Award winner said he was approached in December about the allegations that reportedly took place more than 30 years ago, and even though the celebrity publications have not run stories yet, he felt he should speak out, Deadline.com wrote.

"… I got a message from my attorney that The Hollywood Reporter wanted to do a story about an employee that worked for me approximately 32 years ago," Douglas told Deadline.com. "She claims that, one, I used colorful language in front of her, not at her, but that I used colorful language.

"Two, she claims that in conversations I had in front of her, on the phone, that I spoke raunchily, or dirtily with friends of mine, in private conversations. I fired her eventually, for the work she was doing, but three, she claims that I blackballed her from the industry and stopped her form getting another job. And then, four, she claims that I masturbated in front of her," Douglas continued.

Douglas said while he used "colorful language," none of it was directed at the woman and denied blackballing her, Deadline.com wrote. He actor called the masturbation allegation "a complete lie, fabrication, no truth to it whatsoever."

Fox News wrote that The Hollywood Reporter could not immediately be reached for comment and no articles containing allegations against Douglas could be found on its website. Douglas said his attorneys told him that Variety also approached the actor about a similar story, per Deadline.com.

"It's extremely painful," Douglas said about the allegations made by the woman, who was not identified in the Deadline.com story. "I pride myself on my reputation in this business, not to mention the long history of my father and everything else. I don't have skeletons in my closet, or anyone else who's coming out or saying this.

"I'm bewildered why, after 32 years, this is coming out, now. As I say, I will fess up to colorful language, but the issue of masturbating in front of her? That rung is something I've only heard about the last year. It's not an expression that related to the '80s. So I thought it stunk. And I tried to figure out, why the hell would somebody do this?" he continued.

Hollywood has been rocked by the sexual harassment and sexual allegation scandal that exploded last fall when The New York Times detailed allegations by numerous women made against now disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, leading to his firing.

The allegations eventually led to the #MeToo movement where women from across numerous industries have made sexual harassment and assault charges against men in power, leading to their firings or departures.
