Megyn Kelly tweeted that she's nabbed Russian President Vladimir Putin for a one-on-one exclusive on interview on Friday that will air on her new network NBC show on Sunday.
Kelly, the former Fox News talkshow host who jumped to NBC News in January, will be debuting her summer newsmagazine "Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly," said USA Today. Kelly already was set to moderate a discussion with Putin at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Friday.
"The (forum) conversation will cover a wide range of global political and economic topics, including international trade agreements, cyber-security and the impact of rising military tensions," said an NBC news representative.
USA Today said Kelly will anchor the Sunday show, which will be opposite CBS's rating kingpin "60 Minutes." She also will report on some segments while other reports will be done by correspondents Harry Smith, Kate Snow, and Cynthia McFadden.
The New York Daily News said Kelly also is preparing to take over NBC's weekday 9 a.m. timeslot for "Today," putting her up against ABC's "Live with Kelly and Ryan," the talkshow with new host Ryan Seacrest joining Kelly Ripa.
The News reported in April that Kelly was spotted on the E! Network set of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," possibly to interview members of the popular reality show family. The newspaper stated that Kim Kardashian had been making appearances at that time to talk about being a robbery victim at a Paris hotel last year.
