Megyn Kelly wants to come back to Fox News, but it appears the network is saying no to the prospect, sources told Vanity Fair this week.

Kelly has been in the spotlight this week following her controversial blackface remarks that resulted in her being pulled off the air amid widespread backlash.

It has now emerged that she may have wanted to return to Fox News weeks before the debacle erupted and has pushed conservative viewpoints in on-air comments, according to Vanity Fair.

She has regularly defended Brett Kavanaugh, who faced multiple accusations of sexual misconduct, as highlighted by The New York Times.

Kelly has also called Dr. Christine Balsey Ford, who accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault 36 years ago, a "Democrat donor" who received representation from a "well-known Democratic activist," Vanity Fair noted.

Fox News’ parent company, "New Fox," has a lineup that is working for it and a source close to Lachlan Murdoch, the company’s CEO, said he is happy with the working order of things, according to Vanity Fair.

A final decision about Kelly would have to be passed by the company’s chairman, Rupert Murdoch, but sources say both men are angered by the fact that Kelly moved over to NBC after turning down their $25 million a year offer, according to Vanity Fair.

Kelly is also reportedly facing heat from NBC, with the company’s chairman, Andy Lack, criticizing her.
