Controversial Infowars host Alex Jones will be sitting down with Megyn Kelly for an interview on her new NBC news magazine show. Jones revealed the event on his YouTube channel show while talking with Republican strategist and former Donald Trump advisor Roger Stone.
Following her one-on-one discussion with Russian president Vladimir Putin, Kelly will be heading to Austin, Texas, headquarters of Jones’ program.
Jones describes himself as a libertarian, but has been called a “far-right” commentator and conspiracy theorist. He said the interview will be conducted this week.
Although their initial contact seemed cordial, Jones suspects he will be “walking into a trap.”
“The producer was so over-the-top fake nice,” he told Stone, according to the New York Post’s Page Six. “Megyn’s like, ‘We’re going to get dinner — a nice big steak!’ I said, ‘Megyn, you don’t like me, stop acting like it.’ And she said, ‘I do.’”
Jones warned the viewers on his popular online program: “They’re going to be able to edit however they want.” He claimed NBC can act friendly “and every time screw you over …”
Jones plans to challenge Kelly on negative statements she made about him while she was at Fox News, Variety reported. He said he rarely agrees to interviews with the mainstream media, but “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” offers him exposure to a new and wide audience.
“I’d be dumb if I didn’t do some of these interviews,” Jones admitted. He’s not doing this interview “because she’s a pretty girl,” he noted. “I’m doing it because I can’t be a wimp and turn it down.”
Although Jones has been controversial at times because of conspiracy theories, such as government involvement in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, he has had a wide range of guests on his show, including conservative author David Horowitz and investigative journalist Seymour Hersh.
