Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are revealing "shocking" details in their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. CBS just dropped two promos for the highly-anticipated sit-down chat, which offers a glimpse into what fans can expect when the interview airs on Sunday, March 7, and all eyes are now on the royal family.
"You’ve said some pretty shocking things here," Winfrey says in one clip.
"Were you silent, or were you silenced," she is heard asking Markle, who does not speak in either of the clips.
In the promo videos, Harry also speaks about his mother, Princess Diana.
"My biggest concern was history repeating itself," he says.
"I’m really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife by my side because I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been for her going through this process by herself all these years ago," he adds.
The interview was filmed last month but days later, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were stripped of their royal patronages after revealing that they would be doing the interview with Winfrey. It has since emerged that CBS was hoping to re-shoot parts of the interview to include the latest developments.
"When the Duke and Duchess spoke, it was never envisaged they would have their patronages taken away," an insider revealed to the U.K.'s Mirror. "They didn’t see it coming and spoke as they still had roles to play. Now, however, other than their titles, they are to have no role in royal life — a point producers know was not discussed when Winfrey spoke to them."
The source explained that Harry and Meghan had been under the impression that they would retain their roles but things changed since they "eagerly sat for Winfrey and poured their hearts out."
